Rio Rancho’s Great American Cleanup
Volunteers needed for the City of Rio Rancho’s Great American Cleanup
Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 8 a.m. to noon
The event is ideal for schools, businesses, civic groups, neighborhood associations, service organizations, and individuals wanting to volunteer and improve their community. Activities will include cleaning trash and debris from public lands, road right-of way, and parks throughout the city. Following cleanup work, a thank you party for volunteers will take place at Haynes Park, 2006 Grande Blvd., featuring refreshments, including pizza from Pizza 9, and giveaways.
This year, we’ll be planting six trees, one at a park in each district. Parks include: Haynes, Sandia Vista, Western Winds, Zia, Vista Grande, and Vista Hills Parks. Volunteers are needed to assist with the plantings and will also be encouraged to remove litter and debris from each location.
